Cold War Redux

Oh we have been AWOL for quite a while. To get back into the fray I thoght you may enjoy this from a good friend in Virginia.

The Cold War that began in 1945 has not ended. We face the same chief adversaries, Russia and Red China. Ronald Reagan forced the Russian empire to downsize for economic reasons, but Russia began exploiting its energy reserves, tried capitalism briefly without property rights, and is now back to socialism. Red China is becoming an economic powerhouse sustained by our greed for products of their cheap labor, and is much stronger militarily, thanks in large part to advanced nuclear and missile technology bought from the Clinton administration with campaign contributions.

Today's Cold War is heated up by the precious sweat of our warriors and the bitter tears of their friends and relatives, as was the case in "Truman's War" and Johnson's. Korea and Vietnam were not considered cold wars by those who fought them.

We've been advised by Jordan's King Abdullah that more civil wars may erupt if Iraq's turbulent situation does not change soon. - Which makes one wonder just what part of democratization Mr. A does not understand. In the worldwide democratic revolution conjured up by President Bush's speech before the National Endowment for Democracy on 6 November 2003 there is no place for autocrats or tyrants; and monarchies are tolerated only as window dressing or quaint reminders of a nation's past history.

Some of our own politicians have expressed dread that war in Iraq may spread to become a Middle East regional war. But, such spread is a moot point, since it has already occurred. Saudi Arabia and Iran are already fighting through surrogates in Iraq.

On battlefields of our choosing, we must bring our struggle against Iran, Saudi Arabia and devout Islamists to them, while our enemies create allies for us by barbaric actions in Thailand, Europe, Africa, the Phillipines and elsewhere.

The Cold War will last until freedom of religion, representative government, and the rule of law are universal. However, freedom must never be extended to any religion, such as Islam, which calls for the destruction of another faith. As has been said, our Bill of Rights is not a suicide pact.

We must have a talk right away with Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei, who is the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and Commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard. We must assure him that, unless he ceases murdering United States military and civilian citizens in Iraq, and unless he immediately destroys his nuclear weaponry facilities, Qom will cease to exist.

Meanwhile, we must halt the on-going invasion of our country by aliens; we must abrogate agreements, such as the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America agreements which call for the free flow of laborers across our borders. And we must correct the outrageous refusal by this administration to double the size of our armed forces while the president advises us the "War on Terrorism" is of indefinite duration.
